CENTRAL Java administration received three prestigious awards from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on Tuesday (April 6, 2021).
Head of Regional Office OJK for Central Java and Yogyakarta, Aman Santosa presented the awards to Governor Ganjar Pranowo in Semarang.
"The OJK awards should have been given by the end of 2020, but the Covid-19 pandemic led to an excusable delay", Mr Aman said.
Among the three awards, two were for Central Java administration, and the other was bestowed upon Governor Ganjar Pranowo.
The two awards for Central Java administration comprised Best Province with Financial Inclusion Program Development Innovation (October 2020) and Simple Award (November 2020).
Meanwhile, Governor Ganjar Pranowo was awarded Best Figure on Financial Inclusion Program Mover (January 2021).
"All these awards belong to all people of Central Java indeed", Mr Ganjar said.
He further explained, the provincial government has been cooperating with the OJK in implementing and managing several programs on financial inclusion.
"We do our best to expand access to financial services, in hopes of people of Central Java can build security and prosperity for themselves, their families and their communities", he continued.
Central Java government, he added, have been trying to open up access to those currently left out of the banking system, providing a pathway to broader financial inclusion.
With that, micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) can get sufficient financing to run their business.
"Almost all programs run well in every regencies and municipalities of Central Java", Mr Ganjar said.[sahrudin]
